In the early hours of 30.11.2024, a group of Hansa Rostock supporters was attacked by a masked group of men at a highway rest stop. The incident occurred as the fans were traveling to an away match against 1860 Munich, a fixture in the German football league.

According to reports, between 30 and 50 individuals, dressed in black and wearing masks, ambushed the Hansa Rostock fans. Despite the victims being on the ground, the attackers continued to assault them. The violence left four of the Hansa supporters requiring medical attention, and they were subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

In addition to the physical assault, personal items, including fan merchandise and clothing, were reportedly stolen during the attack. Local authorities are investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made at this time. The motives behind the attack remain unclear, and there has been no official statement from the group responsible.

This incident adds to growing concerns over fan violence in German football, which has prompted increased calls for action from both clubs and law enforcement. The safety of fans, particularly during away games, has been a point of discussion in the ongoing debate over the role of hooliganism in sports.

As of now, the authorities are working to identify the attackers and understand the circumstances surrounding the assault. The incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers faced by football fans in certain situations, though the vast majority of supporters continue to enjoy the sport in a peaceful and respectful manner.
